Hyundai offers new NEXO hydrogen SUV from just £120 per month in Korea with new finance deal and free fuel

Hyundai has introduced a new finance and fuel incentive scheme for its all-new NEXO hydrogen fuel cell SUV, aiming to make ownership easier and more affordable for domestic buyers in Korea.
The “Next Easy Start Programme,” announced this month in South Korea, combines two key benefits: a deferred-payment vehicle finance option and up to 2.4 million KRW (£1,370) worth of hydrogen refuelling credits over two years.
Flexible finance with a hydrogen twist
At the heart of the offer is a “vehicle return grace type” instalment scheme. Buyers pay low monthly costs based on a guaranteed future value for the car, and can choose to hand it back after 36 months rather than paying off the remaining balance.
Hyundai says up to 50% of the vehicle’s value is underwritten upfront, allowing customers to effectively defer half the cost and only pay interest on the balance during the three-year term. The scheme is available via Hyundai Card and is pegged to a 4.3% interest rate.
For buyers in Korean regions with strong hydrogen car subsidies – such as Daegu, Daejeon and Incheon, where the combined state and local grant reaches ₩32.5 million – the entry-level monthly cost can drop as low as ₩220,000 (£120), or just ₩7,200 (£4) per day.
The NEXO is priced from ₩76.44 million (£41,000) in Korea including tax incentives, based on the Exclusive trim.
Free hydrogen for two years
In addition to the finance offer, Hyundai is also providing hydrogen refuelling support worth up to ₩2.4 million (£1,370) across 24 months.
Each new buyer will receive a ₩1.95 million prepaid hydrogen card when purchasing a NEXO. An extra ₩450,000 can be unlocked when using a Hyundai Motor-specific credit card and spending above ₩10 million – likely a sweetener for buyers opting for optional extras or higher trims.
Celebrity backing and campaign push
The campaign has been launched alongside a new promotional video featuring South Korean broadcaster Yoo Jae-seok, who has taken delivery of a new NEXO. Yoo said he was “joining the journey of hydrogen mobility without CO₂”.
Hyundai has dubbed the campaign a “NEXO love call,” suggesting further promotional activity is in the pipeline as the carmaker ramps up domestic awareness and uptake of its hydrogen flagship.
