Dutch heavy transport specialist Van der Vlist will take delivery of its first MAN hTGX hydrogen-powered truck at the end of 2025, with two more to follow in early 2026.

The trucks will join the company’s growing zero-emission fleet, which already includes three battery-electric vehicles.

The MAN hTGX uses a hydrogen combustion engine and offers a claimed range of around 600 km, with refuelling times of just 10-15 minutes.

MAN positions the hTGX as a practical option for long-haul freight where fast turnaround and payload flexibility are essential – particularly in sectors where battery-electric trucks remain less suited.

Van der Vlist, best known for its ‘out-of-gauge’ and abnormal load logistics across Europe, said the deployment forms part of its long-term commitment to cleaner transport. Once the full batch arrives, its zero-emission fleet will total six vehicles.

The firm’s first hTGX will arrive just ahead of the model’s series production launch, which MAN has scheduled for late 2025.

The truck was first revealed at the IAA Transportation show in 2024 and is among the first hydrogen internal combustion models to be offered by a major OEM for commercial deployment.
