The Prince of Monaco takes the wheel of Extreme E’s hydrogen Pioneer 25, cruising Monaco’s iconic streets to open the Monaco Hydrogen Forum.

Extreme E recently spoke with Andrew Cunningham, CEO of GeoPura, to dig into the technology that’s driving hydrogen-powered racing forward.

Extreme E drives gender equality in motorsport, creating new opportunities for women on and off the track as it evolves into hydrogen-powered Extreme H in 2025.

We met up with Catie Munnings, professional Racing Driver at Extreme E – who had been giving the new Pioneer 25 a good thrashing around a motorsport test track – to get her thoughts on the updated hydrogen-powered car for 2025.

Driving Hydrogen had the exciting opportunity to join the team at Extreme E down in the south of France as they continue extensive testing of their hydrogen fuel-cell Pioneer 25 on a gruelling off road circuit.

“I think every race car should be built like this,” says Timmy Hansen, Swedish rallycross legend, after his first hydrogen-powered test in the Pioneer 25.

Last Wednesday, we headed down to the Fontjoncouse test track in the sunny south of France with Extreme H for the final track test of their hydrogen-powered Pioneer 25.

Extreme H’s Pioneer 25, their hydrogen-powered race car, has successfully passed the stringent FIA crash tests – the first hydrogen race car to meet such safety standards.

World Rally Champion, and owner of Extreme E team Acciona/Sainz XE, Carlos Sainz has firmly backed the transition to hydrogen in racing.

The electric vehicle off road racing series, Extreme E, have ditched electric vehicles in exchange for hydrogen power in a groundbreaking new era for motorsport.
