Hydrogen Refuelling Solutions (HRS) has opened a new subsidiary in Dubai to expand its hydrogen refuelling business across the Middle East. The move marks another step in the French company’s international growth strategy and strengthens its presence in a fast-growing hydrogen market.

The Gulf region is becoming a major focus for hydrogen investment. Countries such as the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia are working to position themselves as global hydrogen hubs. They are using their vast energy resources, infrastructure, and strong policy support to push large-scale projects.

Building a base in Dubai

The new HRS office will serve as a regional hub for commercial and technical operations. It will help the company support local customers and develop new partnerships in hydrogen mobility.

The subsidiary, known as HRS Dubai, is based in the Almas Tower at Jumeirah Lake Towers. It will be led by Yanis Mouhamou, Business Developer for the Middle East, and overseen by Rémi Poncet, HRS Commercial Director.

HRS said the Dubai office brings it closer to key decision-makers, investors, and mobility operators in the region. This local presence will allow the company to respond faster to new hydrogen opportunities.

Growing activity across the region

HRS already operates in the Middle East. Its first hydrogen refuelling station has been running for more than a year in Neom, Saudi Arabia. The successful project has shown that HRS technology can handle high temperatures and demanding conditions.

The company hopes to build on this experience as the region invests more heavily in hydrogen transport. Local partnerships will play an important role in achieving that goal.

Global expansion continues

HRS designs and manufactures modular hydrogen refuelling stations ranging from 300 kg to 4 tons per day. The company’s French production site can assemble up to 180 stations each year with short lead times.

By establishing a permanent base in Dubai, HRS aims to take part in the Middle East’s shift to low-carbon transport. The move reflects the company’s commitment to providing local support for regional hydrogen ambitions and long-term clean mobility goals.
