HOYER to manage deliveries as H2 MOBILITY builds resilience into hydrogen filling network

Hydrogen refuelling stations in Germany’s Rhine-Neckar region will now be stocked and managed by HOYER, following a new logistics contract signed with H2 MOBILITY.
The deal sees the Hamburg-based HOYER Group take charge of hydrogen transport and volume management across the region, initially serving selected stations from H2 MOBILITY’s 80-site nationwide network.
Both firms say the agreement strengthens supply chain reliability, reduces dependency on third-party operators, and allows for more flexible deliveries – a key step as the sector moves towards scale.
“We are confident that we have gained a reliable partner in HOYER, who will support us in ensuring the independent supply of our hydrogen filling stations,” said Frank Fronzke, Managing Director and COO of H2 MOBILITY.
The partnership comes as HOYER expands its hydrogen activity through an internal “New Energies” group, dedicated to alternative fuels and gas transport equipment.
The company is already trialling its own fuel cell trucks and growing its capabilities in cryogenic and pressurised gas logistics.
“The partnership with H2 MOBILITY is an important milestone in our mission to further expand the hydrogen logistics sector,” said Anna Krüger, Head of Sales for Global Gas Logistics at HOYER. “We’re leveraging our many years of experience in hydrogen handling and intelligent logistics planning.”
Supplying a growing network
H2 MOBILITY remains Germany’s largest operator of public hydrogen stations and has committed to switching entirely to renewable hydrogen by 2028.
The company is now investing in its own trailers and hydrogen-handling equipment, enabling closer control over logistics – and a shift away from dependency on traditional supply contractors.
The new HOYER contract supports that transition by offering what the firms call a “more autonomous and secure” refuelling network, particularly in areas like Mannheim, Heidelberg, and Ludwigshafen where demand for hydrogen mobility is beginning to scale up.
